Housing Park de La Feixina. Palma de Mallorca
-
The building tries to understand the character of the neighbouring constructions by analysing several features such as the materiality of the marès stone, the colours, the void proportion and the types of openings. By doing this we have managed to create a building that not only fits in naturally into the city but that is also able to display a particular language and embrace its contemporary condition.
The dwellings -one per floor-, open towards the southern corner of the building, drawing upon the good orientation and the views over the Parc de la Feixina, the port and the city?s historical wall. The common spaces such as the staircase the lobby, etc., feature warm materials that can also be found in Mallorca?s vernacular architecture. These common spaces in the ground floor were designed to create a dialogue between the building and the city, ultimately enhancing the communication between the public space, the common areas and the interior of the dwellings.
